Atlanta Hawks at Detroit Pistons, 7 pm Eastern
The Pick: Detroit +7.5 (-110), bet $11 to win $10
I continue to like Detroit as a home underdog. They’re 15-12 against the spread this season in that scenario, and 17-14 ATS at home overall. They play teams tough in their own gym. Atlanta, on the other hand, are 4-7 ATS as a road favorite, 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games, and 2-4 ATS in their last six games against the Pistons. The Hawks have some underrated injury issues, with guards Kevin Huerter and De’Andre Hunter questionable for tonight. Also, Atlanta visits the defending champs Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday, and they might just be looking past tonight’s game. I’ll take the points for a home dog.
Chicago Bulls at Philadelphia 76ers, 7 pm Eastern
The Pick: Philadelphia -275, bet $40.54 to win $15; Philadelphia -7 (-110), bet $10.99 to win $10
Chicago has been dealing with injuries - Alex Caruso, Lonzo Ball, Nikola Vucevic - and have come back to Earth a little bit after a scorching-hot first half. Philadelphia is coming off a loss to Miami but crucially, James Harden did not play. The Sixers since Harden has joined the team have shown that they are a contender for the Finals, and coming after a loss, they should be amped and ready to ensure there’s no losing streak. A month ago, Philadelphia beat the Bulls in their first matchup, 119-108 in Chicago. The Bulls don’t have anyone to stop Joel Embiid and, without Ball, no one really to slow down Harden. The Sixers rebound off their recent loss.
