Chicago Bulls at Atlanta Hawks, 7 pm Eastern

The Pick: Chicago -124, bet $18.60 to win $15

Chicago’s enduring a two-game losing streak, both losses to playoff contenders. They’re now only 1.5 games out of losing home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The Bulls are going to be eager to get off that slide. Despite the losing streak, they’ve covered in six of their last nine games. Meanwhile, Atlanta has lost their last four as an underdog. These two teams are pretty evenly matched statistically, but Chicago has the heart and spirit of a team that wants to make some noise - kind of like the Hawks were last season. I think they pull it out tonight.

Memphis Grizzlies at Boston Celtics, 7:30 pm Eastern

The Pick: Memphis +1.5 (-110), bet $16.50 to win $15

Boston has been on a roll for the last month, to the point where Nate Silver’s website fivethirtyeight.com puts them as tied for favorite to win the NBA - which is insane, frankly. The site lists Memphis as the eighth most-likely team to win the ‘chip - which is almost as insane. Now, I’m not sure Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies read fivethirtyeight.com; I’m sure the team was as disillusioned by the analytic website’s faceplant with the 2016 election as most of us. But no doubt they’ve heard that the Celtics are becoming a favored team and as a team that a) plays as hard as it can every night and b) seeks any motivation it can on those nights, I’m betting they’re gonna come out ready to play tonight. This is the first time the Grizzlies and Celtics have played this season, which is another reason to assume both teams will be playing at their best. Except the Celtics won’t because they’ll be without Jaylen Brown, who’s out with an ankle injury. That tips the scales in Memphis’s favor. I’ll take points with the team that I know plays hungry.

Player Prop Parlay: DeMar DeRozan to score 25+ points w/Ja Morant to score 25+ points w/Jayson Tatum to score 25+ points (+100), bet $10 to win $10.05

(shrug) The stars come out on TNT.
