O'Sullivan's Wednesday 1.26 NBA Picks: Grizzlies vs Spurs, Maverick vs Trail Blazers, as Mavs lose Hardaway

Memphis Grizzlies at San Antonio Spurs, 8:30 pm Eastern, Dallas Mavericks at Portland Trail Blazers, 10 pm.

Seattle O’Sullivan 2021-2022 NBA Season so far: 114-145-4, -$465.89

(Standing Caveat: The universe is chaotic. Life is unpredictable. Things happen. Like injuries. And COVID protocols. In following Seattle O’Sullivan’s betting advice, be advised that you should always monitor your bets during the day to make certain unforeseen things have not occurred which might change your wagering opinion. Thank you.)

Memphis Grizzlies at San Antonio Spurs, 8:30 pm Eastern

The Pick: San Antonio +4.5 (-109), bet $21.74 to win $20

Memphis is on the final game of their four-game road trip tonight and will be looking ahead to Friday’s matchup against the Utah Jazz in Memphis. Ja Morant is listed as probable for the Grizzlies, but even if he plays I imagine the coaching staff will be monitoring his minutes. San Antonio getting 4.5 at home is an opportunity; the Spurs are not having a good season but coasted to an easy victory last night and shouldn’t be too fatigued tonight. They’ll play hard since it’s Gregg Popovich’s final year. I’ll take the “home dog.”

Dallas Mavericks at Portland Trail Blazers, 10 pm Eastern

The Pick: Portland +4 (-110), bet $22 to win $20

I’ll take another “home dog” in Portland, who lost a tough one last night and is fighting to stay in playoff contention. Dallas got blown out by close to 40 at Golden State last night, and now plays the second game of a road back-to-back. An underrated factor is Tim Hardaway Jr., who left last night’s game with a fractured left foot. He’ll be out tonight, and that’s a deceptively big loss for the Mavericks. The Trail Blazers continue to fight during a rocky season, winning six of their last nine and five of their last six against the spread. I’ll take the points in what should be a tight duel.
