Charlotte Hornets at Washington Wizards, 7 pm Eastern
The Pick: Washington -166, bet $8.50 to win $5.12; under 217 points (-112), bet $8.50 to win $7.59
Here are two teams that aren’t separated by as much as you might think. Charlotte lost on Saturday but had won five in a row previously, while Washington has won four in a row at home and six of their last eight overall. I continue to think the Wizards will make a dent come playoff-time in a surprisingly up-in-the-air Eastern Conference. I’ll pay a little extra not to have to worry about the spread. Washington’s games have gone under the total eight of the last nine contests, and they are seventh in points allowed per game at 103.4. Charlotte has the second-worst defense in the league for allowing points, but Washington is unlikely to take too much advantage, scoring only 106.0 per game. At home, I like the Wizards to clamp down a bit and keep the total below 217.

The Pick: Teaser Boston -2.5 w/Atlanta -1.5 w/Milwaukee -3 w/Utah -0.5, true price -110, bet $8.05 to win $7.32
Four (mostly) crummy teams going up against four (mostly) solid home favorites, so I’ll take a 9.5-point teaser and keep basically a straight spread bet. The (mostlys) here are Memphis, who’s not crummy but facing the Jazz in Utah, and my teaser gets it so Utah only has to win, and Boston, who’s been up-and-down this year but should handle a Houston team that may already be tanking. The four teams I’ve selected here should all take care of business if they want to be taken seriously.
Player Prop Parlay: Grayson Allen under 12.5 points w/under 3.5 rebounds +218, bet $2 to win $4.37
Ironically, I’m taking unders for Allen here because of how much he’s improved. He’s become an important role player in Milwaukee’s offense. In what I think will be a Bucks blowout, Allen won’t get a lot of minutes in the third or fourth quarter and thus will have less of a chance to stuff the stat sheet.
