O'Sullivan's Monday NBA Picks: Knicks at Sixers, Hawks at Warriors & Jimmy Butler, Nikola Jokic prop parlay
After the public humiliation (some might say “gentle suggestion” but that would be a euphemism) from my editor, I’ll begin issuing the “Standing Caveat” below. However, as far as my own picks are concerned, I will strive not to change wagers based on capricious events, and in the rare instance I do, I will be certain to inform you in my column the following day. I trust that at this point, I’ve earned your trust, if only concerning my integrity and not my gambling acumen.

New York Knicks at Philadelphia 76ers, 7 pm Eastern
The Pick: Philadelphia -186, bet $14.88 to win $8; Philadelphia -4.5 (-110), bet $7.60 to win $6.91
Philadelphia is 9-1 against New York in their last ten matchups. The Knicks have lost nine in a row in Philadelphia. The Sixers are hot right now: 8-2 overall, 6-0 as a favorite, 7-3 against the spread. They are better than the Knicks in virtually every statistical category. Tobias Harris and Matisse Thybulle are out tonight but I think guard Seth Curry and center Joel Embiid are on a mission. Could it be the Ben Simmons nonsense actually helps make Embiid and company the best team in the Eastern Conference?
Player Prop Parlay: Jimmy Butler over 15 points w/Nikola Jokic over 4 assists, true price -242, bet $7.60 to win $3.15
An underrated heavyweight matchup, and I’ll put a little down to see if the two stars facing each other can have their typical stat-stuffing game.
Atlanta Hawks at Golden State Warriors, 10 pm Eastern
The Pick: Golden State -158, bet $7.60 to win $4.81
Golden State is 8-1, yes, but this is more about Atlanta being tired after a West-Coast road trip. The Hawks are 1-6 against the spread in their last seven, 0-8 ATS on the road in their last eight, and the Warriors outscore them by more than six points per game. Trae Young is a rising superstar but still tries to do too much occasionally. Stephen Curry is a superstar who’s playing at home.
