When things are going good, your player hits a late three to get him over the number. When they're not, your player has had the type of game you expected but is a FG short of going over and he sits because his team is getting blown out. Or the Warriors, -8, are up 6 late in the 4th and you're waiting for Stephen Curry to get fouled and hit 2 FTs to get you a push and Andrew Wiggins turns over the ball with 5 seconds left. These are the reasons that Fats is starting to gray at the temples.

Friday picks

The Cavs have been struggling and the Blazers have been picking it up. If they're not too full of themselves after handling the 76ers, they should cover at home.

With Elfrid Payton, Immanuel Quickley AND Derrick Rose throwing lobs, Mitchell Robinson should get dunking opps vs. the Wizards.

The Wolves went home off a long road trip for one game before heading to Charlotte. Hard to imagine they'll be fully motivated.

The Thunder are coming off two tough losses to the Lakers. Playing a third hard road in a row is tough in the NBA.

Lastly, Nikola Jokic has had a double-double in every game but one this season. If someone wants to give me a 95% chance to get a 50% return, I'll take it.
