NBA Saturday: Greg Frank hopes to continue his roll with Pistons vs Spurs - Spurs want revenge and Pistons won't be firing on all cylinders

Tip is 8:30 pm EST.

2-0 Friday, 57-56-1 overall.

Pistons (+4.5) @ Spurs (222.5)

Pick: Spurs -4.5

The Spurs weren’t a very consistent team at all in the first two months of the season, which explains their 12-18 record after 30 games. However, their last two games are indicators that they should be able to cover this number on Saturday at home against Detroit. San Antonio throttled Memphis on the road on Monday 145-115 and in Luka Doncic’s return to action on Thursday, played right down to the wire in Dallas and covered easily despite losing to the Mavericks by four points. Having watched a good deal of the Dallas game, there were several times in the second half where the Spurs could have folded and gone away, and they battled back to give themselves a chance to win outright in the closing minutes. This is an encouraging sign for a team that’s been on a rollercoaster so far this season. What better way for the Spurs to begin to pick up some steam than to blow out a team that it got blown out by at the beginning of the month? On Dec. 1, San Antonio lost 132-98 in Detroit, the largest margin of defeat for the Spurs in 2019-2020 to date. If the Pistons were even remotely close to actually being that much better than San Antonio, Detroit would certainly be favored on Saturday. The Pistons’ 4-9-1 ATS record on the road speaks for itself, and without Luke Kennard, Markieff Morris and potentially Andre Drummond, expect them to take one on the chin tonight with the Spurs seeking revenge.
