NBA Friday: Greg Frank picks Wizards vs Heat — Can Jimmy Butler pick Miami up after their Boston beating?

1-4 on Wednesday. Fourth Quarter in Minnesota-Dallas was brutal, looked like a 3-2 night most of the way. 38-39-1 overall.

Our favorite spot in the NBA tonight comes in South Beach when a pair of Southeast division foes square off. The Washington Wizards are off their best win of the season at home last night over Philadelphia. Miami just got its rear-end kicked by Boston at the end of a four-game road trip. We’ve seen enough from the Heat this year to think they’re more real than fake and Wednesday’s loss in Beantown was more about a good Celtics team than a Heat team due for regression. Miami figures to compete for a top four seed in the East this season and Washington is headed for the lottery again. With the Heat returning home, probably a little frustrated over how lopsided the game got on Wednesday against the Celtics, we’re guessing they take their anger out on the Wizards. Washington might have gained some confidence after beating the Sixers, but we’re simply betting against the Wizards replicating a 119-point performance and the Heat returning home in style. We normally hate laying big numbers, but we’ll take a chance here in a nice Miami spot with the Wizards on the second leg of a back-to-back.
