NBA: Look to a high-scoring affair with Spurs & Blazers

Spurs (+5.5) @ Trail Blazers (225.5), 10:35 pm

Spurs (+5.5) @ Trail Blazers (225.5), 10:35 pm
Pick: Over 225.5

The Spurs decided to take the night off and give us a loss in the process last night in Golden State getting blown out 141-102. LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar Derozan return to the lineup for San Antonio after a night off thanks to the popular NBA term load management last night. Given the Spurs went over the century mark against the Warriors in a game that was over in the middle of the third quarter without their two best players, we certainly like them to score more tonight in the Pacific northwest. The over is 33-22-1 in Spurs games, giving San Antonio the best over record in the NBA. The over is also 8-2 in the last ten Portland games and has hit in five straight Trail Blazers contests. We had the wrong side taking Portland in its last game against Miami on Tuesday when Portland’s defense looked optional most of the night. All of this would also seem to indicate the Spurs and the points would be the correct side here, but Portland’s good body of work on its home floor despite Tuesday’s double-digit loss is enough to shy us away from San Antonio and take the over instead.
