Happy Almost Friday, fellow sports bettors! Hump Day was fantastic for us on the MLB side of things. We went 4-0 to run our record to 117-98 on player props this season. We needed that sweep after Tuesday's painful 0-3 golden sombrero. That brings us to 6-4 on the week, so let's build on that.
Our full game under in the Mariners vs. Orioles game was a no-sweat winner, and so was our earned runs prop on Nick Pivetta. The Padres' ace just keeps on turning in nice performances, even against teams that have decent offenses. It'll be interesting to see how San Diego does down the stretch as they fight with Los Angeles for the National League West crown.
Our team totals experiment also went well, as both the Mets and the Dodgers went over their respective run totals through the first 5 innings. It's time to keep ringing the cash register. Let's keep going strong with 2 best bets for Thursday, August 14. Best of luck, my friends.
SEA at BAL - 1:05 PM EDT (Evans vs. Sugano)
We faded Tomoyuki Sugano last Friday in the earned runs market, and it bit us and our wallet in the butt. Even still, I'm going to take a shot with this Mariners offense in the first 5 innings today at Camden Yards.
Seattle's lineup has looked much better since bringing over Eugenio Suarez and Josh Naylor from Arizona, and I think both of those guys can light up Sugano early on in this one. The rookie righty has looked okay at times for the Orioles, but he's still given up 3 earned runs or more in 8 of his last 10 starts.
Sugano throws his sinker 14% of the time, and that could be an issue for him against this M's lineup, as they rank 2nd in MLB against that pitch. I also like that Seattle ranks 7th in WRC+ against righties this year. Let's cash this Over for some early action!
ATL at NYM - 7:10 PM EDT (Elder vs. Senga)
Don't look now, but this New York Mets offense is finally looking more like its old self. The Metamucils were dead last in runs scored over the last couple of weeks, but that all changed once the Atlanta Braves came to Queens a few days ago. It looks like the fog has finally lifted off this Mets lineup.
New York has scored 19 runs over the last two games, and they're probably going to be in a foul mood after blowing last night's big lead. Polar Bear Pete Alonso has been raking the ball, as he went 3 for 4 last night after cranking a couple of homers on Tuesday night. He's hitting .375 with a homer through 9 career at-bats against Braves starter Bryce Elder.
Speaking of Elder, he looks like a guy who should be working on a few things in AAA right now. The young righty is just 4-9 with an awful ERA of 6.12. Give me another Mets over to wrap up our Thursday card.
