Happy Tuesday, fellow sports investors! Monday was rough for us on the MLB side of things. We went 1-2 to run our record to 104-83 on player props this season. It was just one of those weird nights where one pitcher was chased early and the other lost by the hook.
It's time to shake it off and move on. Let's bounce back strong with 4 player props for Tuesday, July 29. Best of luck, mi amigos.
LAD at CIN - 7:10 PM EDT
Yamamoto cashed for us last night pretty easily against this Reds lineup, and I expect Glasnow to mow them down with relative ease as well. Glasnow looks to finally be healthy after fanning 12 in his last start against the Twins.
The young righty will have plenty of shots at Ks against Cincy, who has the 8th highest K rate in MLB vs. RHP. Like we mentioned in yesterday's post, guys like Elly De La Cruz, Tyler Stephenson, and Matt McLain often fan twice per game.
It also doesn't hurt that Glasnow has a 33.3% K-rate against the Reds through 42 batters faced. I'll drink the juice and take the Over, Scotty!
ATL at KC - 7:40 PM EDT
Lugo scares me a bit because he's not necessarily a high-strikeout kind of guy. That being said, I can't ignore that he's gone over this number of Ks in 7 straight starts. I also like that Lugo has a 25.5% career strikeout rate against this roster through a pretty large sample size of 94 batters faced.
For the season, Lugo has hit this line in 13 of his 19 starts. The veteran righty has 9 different pitches to keep this Braves lineup guessing, and the matchup is pretty favorable.
Atlanta has the 9th-highest K-rate this season against righties and the 11th-highest over the last two weeks. The Braves offense exploded last night, but I don't think that'll happen against Lugo. Give me another Over!
PHI at CWS - 7:40 PM EDT
Cristopher Sanchez let us down last night, as he got off to a slow start against the Pale Hose and never recovered. We ended up losing our K prop on him by the dreadful hook. That being said, I trust Luzardo a little bit more than Sanchez in the strikeouts department.
Sanchez only uses three pitches, but Luzardo has five different ones at his disposal. I also think that the South Siders could have a hard time against Luzardo's nasty sweeper, which is one of the best in baseball.
The Chi-Sox have been putting the ball in play a lot more lately, but they still have the 5th-highest K-rate in baseball against southpaws. Look for Luzardo to crank out the strikeouts early and often tonight in the Windy City.
TEX at LAA - 9:38 PM EDT
This one is a little bit scary because the Rangers just saw Kikuchi three weeks ago and scored 4 runs off of him. Even still, Kikuchi has been quite good to me this season, so I'll trust him here at home to put together another good outing.
Kikuchi has been hit hard at times, but he's still stayed under this total in 13 of his 22 starts this season. He's also been pretty dominant at home, where he's allowed 2 earned runs or fewer in 8 of his 11 starts.
Texas is starting to come to life, but they haven't fared well against lefties this year. The Rangers rank just 28th in WRC+ overall against southpaws and 24th over the last two weeks. Let's play the Under to close out the Tuesday card.
