MLB Friday Predictions 2 Player Props for June 27
How will Dylan Cease handle the hitter-friendly confines of Great American Ball Park on Friday?
Published on:

Happy Friday, sports betting family! Thursday was not so good for us on the MLB side of things. We went 1-2 to run our record to 75-62 on the season for player props.

Our first Under Ks parlay went down in flames with Shane Baz throwing an absolute gem of a game against the lowly Royals offense. Tanner Bibee also busted our Under by striking out a ton of Blue Jays hitters. Our lone winner was on the Cleveland / Toronto Under, which got home pretty easily.

We're sitting at 11-7 this week, so let's keep building on the profits with another winning day on Friday. Check out our two strikeout props for June 27th below. Best of luck with all your weekend MLB action.

David Peterson Over 4.5 Ks (-155) (BallyBet)

NYM at PIT - 6:40 PM EDT

This one's a little more juice than I'd like to pay, but Peterson gets a fantastic matchup against a slumping Pirates team tonight in the Steel City. Pittsburgh has the 3rd highest strikeout rate in baseball against lefties, so Peterson should get plenty of opportunities to get us at least 5 Ks.

Peterson is definitely more of a ground ball type of guy, but he's still gone over this number in 9 of his 15 starts this season. He's also in excellent current form, as he's K'd 5 or more batters in 6 of his last 9 starts. Five Pittsburgh hitters fan 25% of the time or more, so the crafty lefty should be in great shape this evening.

Lastly, don't forget that Peterson usually works deep into ball games. He's almost always good for 6 solid innings, and it wouldn't surprise me if he worked into the 7th in this one. Give me the Over!

Dylan Cease Over 6.5 Ks (-145) (DraftKings)

SD at CIN - 7:10 PM EDT

Here's another juicy Over that I'm taking on this fabulous Friday. Cease has an excellent K-rate this season, and he's facing a Reds lineup that has the 5th-highest strikeout rate out in MLB versus righties.

Six Cincy hitters strike out more than 23.2% of the time, so look for Cease to use his ungodly slider to generate lots of swing and miss. It also doesn't hurt that Cease still hits 97 to 99 mph with his fastball. If he can work that 4-seamer up in the zone with consistency, I could see him fanning free-swinging guys like Tyler Stephenson, Matt McLain, and Elly De La Cruz a couple of times each.

Current form is also in our favor with this play. Cease has hit 7 or more Ks in 3 of his last 4 starts. Two of those performances were against the mighty Dodgers, who don't strike out all that often. I'll drink the juice on another spicy Over and enjoy watching this one tonight.
