Happy Monday, sports betting family! The weekend was just so-so for us on the MLB side of things. We went 3-3 to run our record to 70-56 on player props this season. Friday was pretty nice at 2-1, but Saturday was disappointing at 1-2, with both losses coming by the dreadful hook.
I still can't believe that the Cardinals pulled Sonny Gray after only 5 innings, but I guess that's what happens when the head index rises above 110 degrees. Let's get right with 2 strikeout props and a parlay for June 23rd.
AZ at CWS - 7:40 PM EDT and PIT at MIL - 7:40 PM EDT
This is not the Mona Lisa Vido of parlays, but I still think there's quite a bit of value in it. E-Rod is an up-and-down pitcher, but his above-average chase rate (63rd percentile) makes me think he can handle the White Sox on the road. The veteran lefty also has a K-rate of above 34% against this Pale Hose roster.
The White Sox have burned us a few times this season, but they have the highest strikeout rate of any MLB team over the last 14 days. Four CWS players have K-rates above 23%, so E-Rod should be able to find us 4 Ks through at least 5 innings of work.
Chad Patrick has looked pretty good during his first season in Major League Baseball. The rookie right-hander has struck out 5 or more hitters in 9 of his 15 starts in 2025. Patrick draws a nice matchup against a Pirates squad that strikes out pretty often.
I love that nobody on this Pittsburgh squad has ever seen Patrick. That should bode well for him using his above-average cutter to keep these Pirates hitters guessing. Give me an Over parlay to start the Monday card.
WSH at SD - 9:40 PM EDT
The plus-money Unders have burned us pretty often this season, but we've done pretty well with them over the last 3 years. Parker doesn't have strikeout stuff, and he faces a Padres team that always puts the ball in play at a high level.
Seven players on this San Diego roster fan less than 22% of the time. Parker's K-rate only puts him in the 15th percentile, and he throws his fastball 55% of the time. That should bode well for our chances.
The Pads shouldn't have any trouble making contact against Parker, so give me the plus money on this one.
WSH at SD - 9:40 PM EDT
Let's stay in the same game for our final play of the evening. Heck, if you wanted to play an alt-line Same Game Parlay for both of these pitchers at Under 4.5 Ks, I wouldn't be opposed to it. We don't have a large sample size on Kolek, but he doesn't generate much swing and miss.
The Nationals are a pesky bunch, and they could present a lot of problems for Kolek. Washington has the lowest K-rate in baseball over the last two weeks, and they have the 4th-lowest strikeout against righties this season.
Current form also favors an Under on this play, as Kolek has fanned three hitters or less in 4 of his last 5 outings. How about another plus money Under? Let's go!
