Happy Thursday, fellow sports investors! Hump Day was just so-so for us on the MLB side of things. We went 2-2 to run our record to 81-77 on the young season. Let's go on a run the rest of the month and get back on the positive side of the ledger.

The sides were good to us last night, as both the Blue Jays and the Orioles made late rallies to get us to the cash-out window. Winning both of those wagers was a good reminder of how important bullpens are in this modern era of Major League Baseball.

Unfortunately, the player props parlay did not fare as well for us. Hunter Brown got lit up like a Christmas tree against the Rays. We're going to have to be more careful when betting on games at that Minor League cracker box Tampa Bay is playing in.

We're pretty much even steven this week at 5-5, so let's win both of these wagers today to get into the green. Best of luck, my friends!

Parlay: Carlos Rodon 6+ Ks / Ranger Suarez 5+ Ks (-104) (DraftKings)

TEX at NYY - 12:35 PM EDT and PHI at COL - 3:10 EDT

How about an early strikeout props parlay to get our juices flowing on this fine Thursday morning? Carlos Rodon is finally healthy, and he looks more like the guy who won the Cy Young award with the Giants a few years back.

The veteran lefty's K-rate of 30.5% puts him in the 90th percentile in all of baseball. Rodon's median strikeout number is 7.5 in 2025, so I feel pretty good about him getting to at least 6 Ks this afternoon. The Rangers have the 5th-highest K-rate against lefties this season, and Rodon amassed 17 Ks in just 2 starts against this squad last year.

Ranger Suarez's ERA of 5.09 may give some folks cause of concern, but he's been the victim of some bad luck in his 3 starts of 2025. The crafty lefty has an expected ERA of 2.59, so he'll see some positive regression really soon. Look for Suarez to use his dominant sinker to get us at least 5 punchouts at Coors Field.

Best Bet: Tigers (-133)

CLE at DET- 6:40 PM EDT

The markets keep disrespecting this Tigers team, especially when Jack Flaherty is on the hill. I made this line closer to Detroit -190, so I'll gladly jump on the Motor City Kitties against the light-hitting Guardians this evening. Cleveland just won't have enough offensive firepower to keep up, as they rank just 24th in WRC+ over the last 14 days.

On the contrary, Detroit's lineup has been locked in all year long. The Tigers have murdered righties all season, to the tune of a 5th overall ranking in WRC+ against them. Riley Greene, Kerry Carpenter, and Javy Baez should be able to do some damage against Tanner Bibee.

The Tigers have owned Bibee so far in his young career. Detroit has an expected batting average of .316 against him through a pretty large sample size of 116 plate appearances. Give me the Tigers to get the Dub for our only play of the evening.
