Sunday Afternoon MLB Strikeout Props: Krothers picks three aces – Gerrit Cole, Max Scherzer, Zack Wheeler

Yankees @ Red Sox, 1:10 pm ET, Nationals @ Marlins, 1:10 pm ET, Phillies @ Mets, 1:10 pm ET.

Just wanted to mention that as much as I love watching a great pitching performance, it’s striking how much better the games are now that the egregious sticky ball is out of the game – the games are more fun to watch, hitters seem more comfortable, and it seems like the games are shorter. The last bit I haven’t seen any stats on, so it could be a case of time flying when you're having fun – so if anyone knows where that data can be checked it would be appreciated.

On to the strikeout picks…

Yankees @ Red Sox, 1:10 pm ET

The Yankees surely can’t be swept by these Red Sox, right? This is just a rebuilding year for them! Good thing the Yankees have Gerrit Cole on the mound today and he should get ~9 strikeouts and the win. Lucky for us, the casinos have the line set at 7.5 – so I’ll take the over and -134 from Barstool Sportsbook.

Nationals @ Marlins, 1:10 pm ET

The Nats’ Max Scherzer takes the mound today and I foresee a similar start to Cole above – around 9 strikeouts. The line is a bit tighter here, but I’m still taking the over. DraftKings is offering +120 on over 8.5 and I’m taking it.

Phillies @ Mets, 1:10 pm ET

Whenever Zack Wheeler pitches we know the Phillies have a chance – which is why I don’t like picking winners/losers anymore. His strikeouts have been down lately, but he’s still an ace. Lucky for us the books have set the bar low for him today with an over/under of 6.5 and I’ll take the over at -143 from the folks at BetMGM.
