Wednesday MLB Strikeout Bets: Krothers sticks with unders for Gerrit Cole, Jacob deGrom, and Clayton Kershaw

Yankees @ Blue Jays, 7:07 pm ET, Cubs @ Mets, 7:10 pm ET, and Phillies @ Dodgers, 10:10 pm ET

In one of the crazier stories this year, Tyler Glasnow is blaming MLB and the crackdown on the sticky substance ban for his partial UCL tear – you can read the full story on SBNation here. How about this thought – you were never supposed to be using the stuff before – so if switching mid-season is a problem for you, it’s your own damn fault?

In other news, I’ve got two perfect days under my belt since make the adjustment to picking unders until the algos catch up with the reduced spin rate from #stickyballgate – so for now I’m going to keep beating the ‘pick the under’ drum…

Yankees @ Blue Jays, 7:07 pm ET

The Yankees’ Gerrit Cole is one of my favorite pitchers, but his spin rate is down, his strikeouts are down… I think he’ll still get the win, but with the line set at 8.5 I’m taking the UNDER and -146 from FanDuel.

Cubs @ Mets, 7:10 pm ET

In keeping with the under-theme, next up is the Met’s great Jacob deGrom. He’s great, but with the line set at 9.5 I’m taking the under and -113 from Barstool Sportsbook.

Phillies @ Dodgers, 10:10 pm ET

This one is a toughie – both the Phillies’ Zack Wheeler and the Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw have the same over/under line of 7.5 – which would seem low in most circumstances and have me wonder if someone is starting to force the algos under. Between the two, I’m going to select taking Kershaw and the under 7.5 and -113 from DraftKings.

Come back again — same bat-channel — Batman out!
