Sunday MLB Strikeout Props: Krothers picks Shane Bieber, Kwang Hyun Kim

Injuries are starting to really screw things up this season. Luckily the big arms having come tumbling down yet – but the odds tell us they are coming and likely in the NL where pitchers still have to hit/run. What’s it going to take to implement the DH in the NL? After last season’s test I thought it would be a sure thing.

Indians @ Mariners, 4:10 pm ET

Unfortunately for us, the algos have caught up with Indian’s pitcher Shane Bieber. I guess striking out 85 over 55 innings will do that. All the books have set the over/under at 9.5 – which is right where I would have set it to make this a tough decision. It’s times like this I remind myself I’m doing this for fun. It’s a tough call, but I’ll take the over 9.5 at -113 from the folks at Unibet.

Cardinals @ Padres, 7:00 pm ET

Kwang Hyun Kim is pitching for St. Louis today and when diving into his season totals it looks like he’s a K an inning kinda pitcher. If you look at it on a game-by-game basis, you’ll note it’s not so simple. One day he’ll go 4 innings and strike out 2, another day he’ll go 5.2 innings and strike out 8. He hasn’t faced the Padres yet this year, so we don’t have that data to fall on. With the line set at 4.5 I’m going to go with my gut and take the over. Barstool Sportsbook is offering +100 and I’ll take it.
