MLB Wednesday Strikeout Prop Picks: Krothers likes Charlie Morton, Zack Wheeler, Lance McCullers

Marlins @ Braves, 7:10 pm ET, Phillies @ Mets, 7:10 pm ET, Tigers @ Astros, 7:10 pm ET.

Another 2-1 last night and Hyun-Jin Ryu pitched 6.2 innings striking out 7. Just a refresher – yesterday my exact comment was “I’m going to say he goes 6 with 6-7 K’s so I’m going to take the over “ – damn it’s great to be right. I won’t be right every night, so I might as well celebrate when I am! Let’s see if we can keep rolling tonight.

The pitcher to watch here is the infamous Charlie Morton. Why infamous? Because I almost never pick him correctly. That’s a warning – if you want to go against me, this may be the one to pull a Costanza – in fact, maybe I will pull the Costanza and pick the opposite of what I think! That’s not me – I can’t do it… the line is 6.5 and I’m picking the under which is -152.

Back to Zack Wheeler, who helped me get my perfect night last week – I like over 5.5 at -113 to keep my wheeler-dealer streak going.

Tigers @ Astros, 7:10 pm ET

I love watching Lance McCullers pitch – but I want to see more of him! Houston has been holding him to 5 innings over his past two starts and I can’t figure out if they are still stretching him out or they want him out before he starts losing it. Thing is, even with just 5 innings a start, he’s still averaging 6.5K’s a game – and that’s low for him historically. Given this is a home game I’m going to hope they keep him in for 6-7 innings, in which case I’m going to take the over 7.5 currently listed at +140.

Come back tomorrow — same bat-channel — Batman out!
