Monday MLB Strikeout Prop Bet Picks: Krothers likes Tyler Glasnow, Sandy Alcantara, Freddy Peralta

Rangers @ Rays, 7:10 pm ET, Marlins @ Braves, 7:20 pm ET, Cubs @ Brewers, 7:40 pm ET.

Went 3-5 last night – not a bad batting average. Today we go back to strikeouts.

Rangers @ Rays, 7:10 pm ET

I’m not sure if Tyler Glasnow will get the win, but I do know he’s going to strike out a bunch of Rangers. That said, the over/under is at 8.5 and that seems a bit high for my taste. I’m going to go with the under at -124.

Marlins @ Braves, 7:20 pm ET

This is a tough one to predict, but hey, that’s why we’re here, right? Sandy Alcantara has looked good his first two starts, with 12 IP and 17 strikeouts, so why isn’t over 5.5 a lock? Well, that’s because historically he doesn’t have that kind of stuff. I’m going to take the under at +124 and see if he proves me wrong.

Cubs @ Brewers, 7:40 pm ET

Let’s talk about Freddy Peralta. His first start he went 5 innings, gave up only 1 hit and struck out 8 against these same Cubs. His second time out was in relief of Brandon Woodruff against the Twins – he went 2 innings and struck out 6. Now he’s back facing the Cubs again and the over/under is set at 7.5. Anyone who has ever picked strikeouts in a game before can tell you that Peralta has always had the ability to strike people out – his problem is that he also gives up too many walks and hits, which tells us he has some control issues – his stuff is not the problem. That said, we aren’t picking if he will give us X runs or get the win, just whether or not he will get over 7.5. The Cubs aren’t hitting right now and I’m rooting for Peralta to hit the over 7.5, which I’m seeing offered at +108 – I might wait a little to see if the line moves.

Come back tomorrow — same bat-channel — Batman out!
