Boop Props likes the over in Wednesday's Phillies vs Orioles pitching-challenged contest at Citizen's Bank Park; Hoskins is due to go deep

The surprisingly 8-7 Orioles play the 5-7 Phils at 7:05 pm EDT.

Rhys Hoskins made the last out of the Phillies’ 10-inning loss to the Orioles Tuesday. So does that mean he starts Wednesday’s game on second base? Ohhhhh, never mind . . .

After starting the season in a 3-for-27 funk, Hoskins is 5-for-11 over his last three games and his first home run since Sept. 17 (23 games and hopefully not counting) is just around the corner.

We prefer hot, crisp weather for betting the long ball, rather than the wet, heavy stuff we are getting Wednesday, but Hoskins is strong enough to blast one through the soup.

Orioles starter Wade LeBlanc has already allowed four homers in 14.1 innings this season and has been touched for 140 in his very journeyman-like career, yet he has allowed just one in four games covering 16 innings at Citizens Bank Park.

The Orioles are one of the 10 teams Hoskins has not taken long in his career. Let’s see if we can’t check that box today also.

The Phillies have allowed eight or more runs in three straight games. It is not uncommon for them to have a streak such as that extend beyond that – 34 times since 1901 in fact. And since the offense has been lit (22 runs on 25 hits the last two games), let’s Layer Some Overs!
