Bet CPBL Saturday Baseball: Unbeaten Rakuten goes against the Uni-Lions while Chinatrust looks for another big win at Fubon

Sometimes you make the right bet for the right reasons and still lose. Friday morning we expected a solid pitching performance from Chinatrust Brothers and since they'd had trouble scoring runs, under 10.5 runs seemed sensible. Well, the Brothers shut out Fubon, but they shut them out 11-0 and banged out 21 hits. Our two Rakuten vs Uni bets went much better as the 14-4 Rakuten victory covered both the 1.5 runs and the 9.5 runs. I'm now at 10-7.

Saturday morning at 5:05 am EDT, the Chinatrust Brothers are at the Fubon Guardians and the Rakuten Monkeys are at the Uni-Lions.

Moneyline: Fubon -182, Chinatrust +138

Run line: Fubon -1.5 +115, Chinatrust +1.5 -152

Total runs: Over 9.5 +106, Under 9.5 -137

Pick: At -182, Fubon is a fairly solid favorite but instead of picking them on the moneyline, I'm thinking they exact some revenge for the drubbing they took Friday and beat Chinatrust by 2 or more and since two of the league's top pitchers are going, I'll also take the Under. The bets are Fubon -1.5 runs and under 9.5 total runs.

Moneyline: Rakuten -245, Uni +175

Run line: Rakuten -1.5 -137, Uni +1.5 +105

Total runs: Over 10.5 -115, Under 10.5 -113

Pick: The moneyline is again a no-go due to the odds – I'm not risking $10 to win $4.20, but once again I'm happy to take the undefeated Monkeys giving 1.5 runs and willing to take the over at 10.5 total runs.
