MLB Today: Albert’s Quick Pitch Picks - Braves v Rockies, Nationals v Phillies, Dodgers v Cardinals, Rays v White Sox, & Indians v Tigers

Favorite Pick of the Day:
Braves (-105) over ROCKIES

Matinee of the Day
Indians (-141) over TIGERS

Low-Risk, High Reward
WHITE SOX (+145) over Rays

Pick’em of the Day:
Dodgers (-110) over CARDINALS

If You Must:
PHILLIES (-156) over Nationals

The Skinny:
The Braves, at -105, are not “technically” favorites today, but they are my favorite pick of the day, and I make the rules here. Why are they my favorite? Not only are the Braves are 8-2 in Kevin Gausman’s last 10 starts, they are 6-0 in their last six when their opponent allows five runs or more in their previous game. Seems like a recipe for success. . . . The Indians are on a five-game heater and are 7-1 in Trevor Bauer’s last eight starts vs. the American League Central. . . . I can’t stay away from the White Sox as an upset pick, probably because they are never favored. Also, Chicago is 4-1 in Reynaldo Lopez’s last five home starts. Worth a shot. . . . In its first appearance of the year, I’m taking the Dodgers in a pick’em. LA is 12-3 in its last 15 games vs. a right-handed starter. . . . The Phillies will eventually lose a series, I just don’t think it’s tonight in South Philly. The trends are not friendly to Nick Pivetta, but the Phillies are 7-0 in their last seven when their opponent scores five runs or more in their previous game. The offense will carry them tonight.
