Saturday’s Race Recap from Keeneland:
(All odds US)
Keeneland:
Race 3: 3rd@ 4.07/1
Race 6: 4th@ 2.26/1
Race 7: 2nd@ 3.10/1
Race 8: 1st@ 21.25/1 🔥💰🔥💰
Race 9: 8th@ 7.04/1
In Race 3, Promise Me a Ride set the pace and dug in gamely holding third just missing second. In Race 6, Patriot Spirit was under a tight old early but could rally only mildly late. In Race 7, O Besos raced near the back and rallied late but missed by a neck. We got our revenge when Runaway Storm stalked the pace and took the lead in mid-stretch and just held on for a 21/1 win. In Race 9, Happy American was closer to the pace than usual. Probably because James Graham fell asleep last time out and didn’t move until too late. The problem today was that his closing kick was dulled because they kept him close to the pace, then Graham decided to race wide around the turn to completely take him out of any chance of winning. If I were the trainer, I’d get rid of that jock for next time.
Saturday’s Race Recap from Aqueduct:
(All odds US)
Belmont at Aqueduct:
Race 8: 3rd@ 2.00/1
Race 9: SCRATCH
Race 10: 6th@ 26.25/1
Race 11: 7th@ 26.25/1
In Race 8, Occult stalked early, came five wide and kept on for third. We scratched from Race 9. In Race 10, Business Model never got out of first gear and finished up the track. In Race 11, Words of Praise raced near the back and rallied only mildly late.
Let’s take a look at Churchill Downs’ “Stars of Tomorrow” race card. Rain is expected in the Kentucky area but there’s no turf racing so who cares? One day left to close out October on a high note!
Churchill Downs:
Race 11: Playback - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 10/1)
Maidens race a mile in this final race for the month of October. Playback took play first time out but didn’t do much running for trainer Paulo Lobo, but he has excellent numbers second time out (19%) and does well with Cisco Torres who is slated to ride (29% wins). Anyone who follows my columns knows I’m a sucker for five-furlong workouts and this two-year-old daughter of Into Mischief has a ton of them leading into this race. Looks live at an overlaid 10/1.
Best of luck to all our members playing Sunday’s rainy races from Churchill Downs!
