(All odds US)
Keeneland:
Race 2: 5th@ 1.14/1
Race 3: 1st@ 9.66/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Race 6: 3rd@ 4.25/1
Race 8: 3rd@ 6.50/1
Race 10: 1st@ 0.42/1 - BEST BET 🔥🔥
In Race 2, the debuting Jilly’s West was bet down to even money from a 9/2 morning line and shot to the early lead but couldn’t keep pace late fading to fifth in the drive. In Race 3, Stretch Drive raced with the heavy favorite, took the lead turning for home and drew away for the 9/1 score. In Race 6, Lat Long battled with the heavy favorite for the lead but this time we were the ones who faded to third while the favorite aired. In Race 8, Pumpkin Scone shot to the front and led til midstretch when she was overhauled. She checked in third. In Race 10, First Mission - bet down to 2/5 off a 1/1 morning line as our BEST BET, raced behind horses early was still behind horses until mid-stretch when Luis Saez switched him out for running room and he prevailed by a neck in his long awaited return to the races.
Two winners including a 9/1 shot and our BEST BET along with two third place finishes from five selections on our Saturday give us a nice profit for the day!!!
Let’s close out the week with more races from cloudy, Keeneland. Dreary looking weather but the horses don’t mind. Looking to close out this week with a BANG ‼️
Keeneland:
Race 4: The Gatekeeper - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 8/1)
Maiden claimers go a mile and a sixteenth. The Gatekeeper is the selection here at 8/1 on the morning line. This four-year-old gelded son of Arrogate has raced twice - a fifth place finish on debut at Turfway Park and a sixth place finish at Churchill Downs last April. Not April 2023, I’m talking April 2022. Trainer Wesley Ward though excels at Keeneland and does well with layoff runners like these. He wins with 25% of runners off similar long layoffs and with 31% of runners cutting from maiden special to maiden claiming. The real key is that there’s not a lot of early speed signed on here and while The Gatekeeper didn’t display much speed in his first two starts, trainer Ward typically trains his horses to show early speed and he adds blinkers today as this guy has a few speedy works leading up to this. The cast of characters lining up in this starting gate for this one is really scraping the bottom of the barrel and looks awfully weak in comparison to whom The Gatekeeper was racing against last year.
Best of luck to all our members playing Sunday’s races from Keeneland!
