Race 1: SCRATCH

Race 4: 6th@ 13.40/1

We start the month with a scratch. I was taking an optimistic approach and somehow thinking that was a good sign til our Race 4 entrant ran. He broke slowly from the rail and never mounted a serious threat. We took a shot at a price and got beat. Turning the page.

Gulfstream Park:

Race 7: Whatchamacall - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 3/1)

Allowance/Optional claimers sprint 5 furlongs and handicapping this race involved finding the probable controlling speed and siding with her. Whatchamacall appears to have an abundance and owns the always advantageous (as long as you break well) rail post position. She hails from a 19% winning barn and has two maintenance works under her belt in preparation for today’s affair. Gate to wire threat.
