God's Tipster's Thursday Delaware Park Pick: The 8th is a maiden claimer sprint with a longshot getting Lasix

Race 3: SCRATCH

Race 7: 3rd@ 1.70/1

Delaware Park must’ve gotten rain in the overnight hours which rained us off the turf for Wednesday. In Race 3, our selection scratched. In Race 7, Murph stalked the early pace but couldn’t run down the runner with the best main track form.

Let’s head back to Delaware Park for Thursday’s races. I’m not quite sure why they rained off the turf today because the main track was fast but with more rain in the forecast for the Delaware area, I’m going to be cautious and avoid turf races for the day. There’s one main track race race I like on the Thursday card:

Race 8: Another Flirt - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 10/1)

Maiden claimers sprint 5 1/2 furlongs here and this is a fairly weak-looking group. Mi Yayis is our 2/1 morning line favorite off a third place finish last time out against a similar group. Our selection actually finished fourth in that race but was a fast diminishing 1/2 length behind Mi Yayis that day, while making her career debut. She broke slowly that day, moved wide off the turn and sustained a nice rally. She gets Lasix for the first time today and is likely to get overlooked. Trainer Samuel Gronk wins with a wicked 45% of his runners using Lasix for the first time (5 for 11) and has finished 1st, 2nd or third with his first time Lasix runners in 9 of 11 starts. Horses typically show improvement in their second career start and if Another Flirt improves on her last race, she’ll offer excellent value here at the 10/1 morning line price or higher.
