Wednesday’s Race Recap from Delaware Park:

Replays for yesterday’s races from Delaware Park can be found here:

Delaware Park:

Race 3: 2nd@ 2.90/1

Race 4: 1st@ 0.90/1 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Race 7: 2nd@ 1.20/1

In Race 4, we had Maestria tabbed as a gate to wire threat and she led from the gate til the very end when she got nailed by Peace Out after doing all the dirty work up front and dispatching of all the early speeds and stalkers. Tough start. Thankfully it didn’t take long to get redemption as in Race 4, Tappin Josie battled with the other race favorite early and won off fairly easily. In Race 7, Etheric galloped along near the back while Seduce set a leisurely pace ahead while up by 6 lengths. With no pace on, Etheric still made things interesting, reeling in the loose leader in mid stretch but was repelled and we had to settle for our second runner up finish of the day.

We’ll head to Belmont Park for Thursday’s twilight evening card. We’re expecting fast and firm conditions with humid temperatures. Let’s get to the action.

Thursday at Belmont Park:

Race 8: Spicer - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 5/1)

Allowance runners go a mile and a sixteenth on turf in this event for 3yo fillies. Canisy is likely to take a lot of play based on her debut win and she ran well while not taking much play that day going off at 15/1 odds. I’m siding with Spicer who drops in to face allowance runners after two straight races against stakes company. After breaking her maiden in impressive fashion last Nov. 4 at Aqueduct, she was thrown right into a stakes race where she almost defeated stablemate Dolce Zel, losing by a head after leading the entire race. That one returned to finish second behind Spendarella, who’s been the best 3yo turf filly in the U.S. so far this season. From there she was placed against even tougher competition on Kentucky Derby day where she finished well back in a Grade 2 event without Lasix. She gets Lasix back today for a 34% winning trainer and top rider Flavien Prat. 5/1 odds are more than fair on this class-dropper.

Best of luck to everyone playing Thursday’s races from Belmont Park!
