God's Tipster's Thursday Churchill Downs Pick: In 7th race, looking for Downtown Abby to show titanic speed

Our Derby week got off to a stumbling start as Jonas’ Dream stumbled coming out from the gate, which from the rail post means it’s going to be a tough trip. Tough trip is right as Jonas’ Dream never looked comfortable, finally getting out to grab 4th. He’ll benefit from the experience. In Race 6 we had Extreme and he scratched so we move onto Race 8 where we had Tulane Tryst. Race 8 featured 4 scratches which changed the entire complexion of the race. Tulane Tryst could’ve used some of the additional speed runners in the field as he was closer to the pace than usual, ranged up and took his shot at Top Gunner but that one was able to hold Tulane Tryst at bay for the win.
Let’s head back to Churchill Downs and Belmont Park for Cinco de Mayo. We’re expecting cloudy skies with mild temperatures at both locations, a fast main track and a firm turf course expected everywhere. Let’s get started.

Thursday at Churchill Downs:
Race 7: Downtown Abby - 2 pts win - BEST BET (US Morning Line Odds: 2/1)
Allowance runners sprint 6 furlongs and this is a tough little group set to do battle. A hot pace is expected and Downtown Abby would benefit the most from a pace battle. She’s only raced once but her performance was an impressive one winning off by nearly 7 lengths in a snappy time. Her final 1/8th of a mile was completed in 11.97 seconds and that was the fastest final 1/8th of a mile run that day – faster than 4 other 6 furlong races run by much more experienced runners in allowance and claiming races run throughout that day’s race card. Looking forward to seeing this one run again.
