My Wednesday article called out the trip I had hoped for in race 2. The problem is the 22.3 first quarter and basically being toyed with by eventual winner 6-Free Enterprise enough prior to clearing. My hope was for a jog out to the lead and a nice 24 + , dreams were crushed though quickly. Onward.
With a lot of potential rain showing in the forecast for Saratoga below is one solid pick from Del Mar to toot your horn with. Best of luck playing today!

Reasoning:
Nothing excites me more than a long, extended workout pattern. The last time 7-Rijeka (IRE) won, we were all learning what Covid is. My angles include an atmosphere change coming from back east, trainer switch up to D'Amato, who is proven to take on new horses well and the mentioned work pattern.
The way the Del Mar Turf has been playing it would carry my 230 pounds home aboard Rijeka. Five horses have a TimeFormUS late pace # which favors closing. The clear on paper leader is 2-Parsimony who looks to serve as a rabbit. With the field being a little smaller my concern is not pace, it is hoping Joe Bravo puts the horse in a clear spot to run home. If so and he loses, I tip the cap and onward we go.
