In Race 5, Brigadier General got the lead and fought til the top of the stretch where he was overtaken by several runners fading to fifth. In Race 6, Delaware was held up behind horses and closed mildly for fourth. In the Test, Obligatory didn’t get enough pace to close into and checked in fifth. In the Whitney it was Knicks Go who was simply too fast for them as he led wire to wire - Maxfield ran a game but distant 2nd. Air Attack and Madam Maclean never contended.
Let’s close out the week at Saratoga with a Sunday card.
Sunday picks for Saratoga:
Race 1: Shaker Shack - 2 pts win (US Morning Line Odds: 8/5)
Claimers kick us off here and this race looks like a situation where Briella will go to the lead from the outside post but Shaker Shack has more staying ability and should be able to withstand the storm in the end. Jose Ortiz winning at 20% doesn’t hurt matters.
Race 5: Tempesta - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 6/1)
In a turf sprint laden with speed we’re going with one who’s run his best when stalking the pace. He is getting blinkers on today which should help keep him focused. He’s 3 for 4 in the money at this distance and at odds of 6/1 he offers value here based on his previous races.

Race 7: Regal Glory - 2 pts win - BEST BET - (US Morning Line Odds: 9/5)
The De La Rose stakes at a mile on turf for fillies and mares and Regal Glory has had one heck of a career with 7 wins and 3 seconds from 13 starts against top competition. She faces no tigers here and brings a perfect 2 for 2 Saratoga record to the table along with a career best speed figure at the distance with a top rider and trainer.
Race 10: Mr. Vincent - 1 pt win (US Morning Line Odds: 20/1)
This runner will need another runner to scratch in order to draw into the body of the race but if he gets in he’s worth a look. After losing his last, his owners could’ve kept him with claimers but they found a state bred allowance where he fits. He’s sure to be overlooked if he draws in and offers good value at 20/1 or higher.
Best of luck 🍀🍀🍀🍀 to everyone playing Sunday’s races from Saratoga!
