Wednesday Horse Racing: God's Tipster picks the 2nd and 7th races at Tampa Bay Downs and recaps 2 Sunday wins

We closed out the week with another solid day. Two wins and two second place finishers from four selections given out. Our day got started when Mia at Midnight won Race 4 emphatically after stalking the pace. In Race 6, our day’s BEST BET - Another Woman came through to win. In Race 9, we sat a nice pocket trip behind the speed with Spotter’s Hill and we were better than all but 1 finishing 2nd. Endorsed endured a tough trip in Race 10 and also checked in 2nd. He had been 3-1 for most of the US betting, only getting knocked down to 6/5 at the last second.

After a fun weekend of stakes racing action we look to close out the month on a winning note. Since Gulfstream Park just concluded its championship meet, they’re taking an extra day and won’t re-open til Thursday so we’re taking a crack at Tampa Bay Downs for Wednesday’s races. Thursday we’ll head back to Gulfstream, on Friday we’ll handicap Keeneland’s opening day card and on Saturday we’ll have stakes action from both Keeneland and Aqueduct. It will be another FUN week.
Let’s kick things off with some races from Tampa Bay Downs where we expect warm temperatures beneath sunny skies and fast and firm conditions.

Tampa Bay Downs:
Race 2: Sosua- 2 pts win - BEST BET (ML Odds: 2-1)
Trainer Arnaud Delacour is winning at 24% on the meet and debuts this daughter of Speightstown who cost $260k. They’ve taken their time with this one as she’s making her racing debut at age 4 and she carries a top notch Tomlinson figure of 420 which says she’s got the bloodlines to be a very nice runner. Trainer Delacour and jockey Hector Diaz team up for a 33% win percentage and this miss had been training steadily right here at Tampa over the last few months in preparation for her debut. With Speightstown as the sire out of an Unbridled’s Song mare, we expect this runner to be precocious.

Race 7: Old Man Mac - 1 pt win (ML Odds: 15-1)
Taking a bit of a shot here but trainer Moises Yanez has connected with longshots in the past and we hope he can do it again. Old Man Mac’s debut was nothing special but now he adds Lasix after a December layoff and while this barn is low profile, they do have strong numbers for the meet (19% wins) and in maiden claiming races in particular - 26% wins. Trainer Yanez also wins at 17% with his turf runners at an average payout of +5-1. This one’s dam was a multiple stakes winner on turf in Canada so he’s got a right to improve at a BIG number.
