Musing – on a lark, I threw $5 on Country House and Long Range Toddy yesterday. They had faced each other the last two and I thought, given the rain, their closing styles would bode well.

RACE 4
$65K MSW - 3yo - 7 Furlongs
8 – Chilly In Charge (6/1) 3 recent bullet works shows he has really taken to the synthetic after running on the Parx sand. Hot jockey Contreras (25%L10) in the irons. This colt and the #4 will be the early speed and either can wire.

4 – Moon Swings (3-1) been on the bench since November, his last race was the $225K Coronation Futurity, a 1&1/8th mile event, where he chased the leader and tired. $120K September Yearling out of Malibu Moon, has been working forwardly and will have to factor in this wager.

7 – Go For A Ride (12/1) second lasix, Cousins (25%L10) w/Casse (17%L30) together winning at 22%. Casse is also hitting a 26% win rate when moving his horses down in class. Entered at GP in March in an $80K open MSW 1 & 1/16th turf race, so he has a race run under his belt, as well as it concurred this year. Nice 5f work in late April. Contender.

RACE 5
$35K 3yo+ NW3 1 1/16th M
8 – Boyhood Dream (12/1) got out of the gate badly last race and ended up, in a game effort, rallying to show. three recent works, including 1 at 2 furlongs being a tell of the trainers’ intention to get a better gate start.

4 – Blu Collar Romance (6/1) eased past out in the Woodbine $100K La Prevoyante Stakes this November past, this guy has the goods. 9 WO starts and 2 wins, his 4 works in April appear that he’s ready for a big run today. Jockey Emma-Jayne Wilson and trainer Blair Miller steaming at a 33% win clip

9 – Chilling Secret (8/1) if there’s enough pace to give this guy a chance, he is a flyer in the stretch. Last out in Tampa, Chilling clipped his final fraction in :30 flat, which is 1 second (approx. 6 lengths) greater than the best of the rest.

RACE 6
$40K Maiden 3yo+ 6 Furlongs
5 – Downy Boy (2/1) outran his par on April 19th while pressing the leader and closing well. He should win this race handily.

2 – Born To Be King (6/1) if there is to be a contender to the 5, it’ll be this colt. His sire, Head Chopper, has 7 offspring racing and 3 of them won their first out. Owner/Trainer/Breeder Paul Buttigieg along with Jockey Kazushi Kamura are winning at a 17% clip

RACE 7
$40K OC NW2 3yo+ 7 Furlongs
7 – My Silencer (2/1) only horse in this race with an out this year where he was in the $100K Dania Beach Stakes at Tampa. In that, he broke poorly from a clash at the gate and never got into contention. My Silencers’ only 2 starts prior were each Stakes races telling what the connections intentions are. April 28th work of 4f in :47.4 at Woodbine is an indication of his condition. 2:1-0-1 at WO for $54K.

4 – Camp Nardo (6/1) graduated in his last race in early December, his brisk works signals his readiness to move up to this level. There should be enough pace for this colt to close in on.

6 – Seguimi (7/2) just gelded 3 days ago . . .we’ll see?
