Tina Fey & Amy Poehler, Sebastian Maniscalco, bringing laughs to Atlantic City; Rivers runs poker tourney

Also, Caesars Entertainment properties in AyCee are going the high-tech route with a “concierge app.”

What’s so funny about Atlantic City casinos? Well, how about three of the biggest names in comedy?

Tickets are on sale Feb. 17 for upcoming performances by megastars Tina Fey and Amy Poehler and Sebastian Maniscalco. Fey and Poehler will team up June 10 and 11 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, while Maniscalco has booked another 10 shows at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa Nov. 9 to 18.

Both engagements are noteworthy for different reasons. The Fey/Poehler shows comprise just one of four announced stops on the pair’s upcoming Restless Leg tour (the other gigs are in Washington, D.C., Chicago and Boston). And Maniscalco will be continuing his unprecedented string of multi-performance mini-residencies at Borgata—an otherwise unheard-of track record for an entertainer at an AC gaming hall.

Other than these dates, the ultra-popular standup guy will only be seen in 2023 at Wynn Encore in Las Vegas, where he’ll turn in 16 performances spread out over four engagements between March and October.

In a statement heralding their road trip, Fey and Poehler, who first teamed on Saturday Night Live as the Weekend Update news team, Fey addressed what the program will entail in a statement by saying, “It’s gonna be an evening of comedy, conversation improv, maybe a little slow-dancing between us… we don’t know yet! But it’s gonna be awesome!”

The announcement also included the pair’s suggestion that, “If this tour goes right, we can finally end this friendship.”

‘Ivy’ to grow in AC

Caesars Entertainment will soon introduce a new technology at their hotels at Casears Atlantic City, Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City and Tropicana Atlantic City.

“Ivy,” as it’s called, is described as a “24-hour virtual concierge” and “the world’s first automated guest-engagement platform for hotels.” It will launch at Caesars first, then the other two properties will plug into it. No starting dates have been announced.

With Ivy, hotel guests will be able to digitally request any and all services they might need and desire, from booking dinner or spa reservations to purchasing show tickets to contacting the housekeeping or maintenance departments.

Another function of the artificial-intelligence system will be real-time satisfaction surveys which, says the company, will allow complaints to be addressed immediately.
