The Saturday Philly Props: Phillies First 5, Run Line, Alternate Run Line

After Friday’s dismal 2-1 loss to the Marlins, we were looking for something − anything!!! – and we found something. It is a stretch, but so is calling the Phillies a good baseball team right now.

Since 2004 and before Friday, the Phillies had lost a 2-1 decision to the Marlins seven times. In the teams’ next match-up, the Phils are 7-0 and out-scoring Florida/Miami 48-18. In the last four of those contests, it is Phillies 26, Marlins 4.

What does this mean for us? Only one of those seven wins was by a single run, so let’s at least go with the Runs Line.

And since Marlins’ starter Elieser Hernández last season had a 6.39 ERA in Innings 2-5, let’s go with the Phillies being ahead after five innings.

And just in case the Phillies let their offensive frustrations out this afternoon, let’s go for an alternate line.

Pick: Phillies Ahead Thru 5 ($5/-129)
Pick: Phillies -1.5 Runs ($5/+107)
Pick: Phillies -3.5 Runs ($5/+260)
