Last night ended with frustration. The Atlanta Dream led the Los Angeles Sparks all game, and then the game came down to the wire. As someone who had taken Atlanta +4.5, the only thing I didn’t want was overtime. So what happens? The Sparks tie it at the regulation buzzer and go on to win in the extra period – by five. Once again, the only explanation is karmic injustice.
Seattle O’Sullivan so far: 80-65-1
Seattle Storm at New York Liberty, 7 pm EDT
The Pick: Seattle +1.5 (-115)
Just one game tonight. New York’s Natasha Howard has returned and has made an immediate impact. With her frontcourt force, the Liberty are no longer so dependent on the three-point shot. Still, they’ve lost three in a row, and Seattle leads in every statistical category except 3-pt shots made per game. I know they’re playing on the road and that they just lost an overtime game to Chicago, and I know Sue Bird and Breanna Stewart will be out resting, but the Storm still have the best record in the league. I’ll take the 1.5.
