WNBA Tuesday: O'Sullivan picks Liberty vs Dream, Sun vs Mystics, looks to keep personal winning streak going

New York Liberty at Atlanta Dream, 7 pm EDT; Connecticut Sun at Washington Mystics, 7 pm EDT.

Seattle O'Sullivan

Because I went 3-0 on Sunday, the WNBA gave everyone off yesterday. I mean, obviously, that’s how it works, right?...Let’s see if we can build on that today…

Seattle O’Sullivan so far: 45-36-1

New York Liberty at Atlanta Dream, 7 pm EDT

The Pick: New York +2.5 (-110)

New York pasted Atlanta 101-78 last Saturday, so I’m not sure why they’re getting points here. Watching the game, it didn’t seem like an unusual performance for the Dream; they were frenetic, sloppy, and went stretches without finding a way to score. The Liberty won based on shooting the 3 well, as they always do when they win. They shot 40.6% from 3 in the game, a little better than their average 35.6%, but it wasn’t so stunning a performance that it accounts for winning by 23. I’ll take the points again.

Connecticut Sun at Washington Mystics, 7 pm EDT

The Pick: Connecticut (-230)

Connecticut forward Jonquel Jones is expected to return for the Sun in tonight’s game. Jones spent two weeks playing for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the FIBA European Championship, and while Connecticut managed to go 2-3 without her, no doubt they’ll appreciate her 21.6 ppg being factored into the lineup. Washington had a solid road trip with a big win over Seattle, but tonight will be facing the best defense in the WNBA (the Sun give up only 74.3 points per game) with their star eager to get back into the swing of things. The Sun are the better team; they get a win here.
