Jason Martinak

The EPL is back, and we have some awesome matchups to kick off Week 1 of what should be another amazing season. Today, I am going to break down the games and give you my 3 favorite bets for Saturday.

Newcastle (+195) at Aston Villa (+130) Saturday 7:30 AM - Draw Odds (+260)

Both of these teams had great seasons last year and will be looking to repeat their success this upcoming year. Villa finished 6th in the table last season, with Newcastle finishing just one spot above them in 5th.

Villa was amazing at home last season, losing just one match on their home turf. Meanwhile, Newcastle struggled on the road, losing 7 of their 19 road games. This should be a very fun one to kick off Saturday.

Fulham (+270) at Brighton (-110) Saturday 10:00 AM - Draw Odds (+260)

It is almost guaranteed to be fun when these two teams meet, as they have not had a scoreless draw between them in over 5 years. Both squads had solid preseasons, with Brighton winning 3 of their 4 preseason matches.

Fulham won 3 straight to end their warm-up games. This game will likely be pretty high scoring, as both sides have scored in 5 of their last 6 matches.

West Ham (+125) at Sunderland (+220) Saturday 10:00 AM - Draw Odds (+235)

Sunderland is making their first appearance in the top-flight since 2017. As most teams with a long layover have high hopes of staying in the top league, they are hoping their summer overhaul leads to some success.

West Ham finished 14th last season and really didn’t have the success they hoped for; however, they overhauled their defense, which was their main issue. This should be a fun one to see how these teams will look this season.

Burnley (+650) at Tottenham (-270) Saturday 10:00 AM - Draw Odds (+400)

Tottenham had a horrible season last year, finishing 17th in the league, but somehow managed to make a Champions League berth by winning the Europa League. Now under new management, they will look to have some success in league play with their new signings.

Burnley barely made promotion and is the heavy favorite to finish last in the league. Maybe they will be able to shock some people, but a trip to Tottenham to start the year is a tough task.

Manchester City (-220) at Wolves (+550) Saturday 12:30 PM - Draw Odds (+360)

There isn’t a ton to say about this one, as Man City are pretty large favorites. Wolves scraped their way into the 16th spot last season with a strong couple of months to end the year, but they lost many key players over the summer. City is far more talented, so I expect them to handle business away from home.

Best Bets

Newcastle at Aston Villa (+130) - Villa was amazing at home last season, and I am expecting that to roll over here. They have a tough task against a solid Newcastle side, but I think they should get the job done against a team that struggled last season on the road.

Fulham at Brighton Both Teams to Score (-165) - The line isn’t amazing here, but there is still some serious value. Both teams scored in 5 of the last 6 meetings between these sides, and both struggled defensively last season.

Man City at Wolves: Phil Foden to Score/Assist (+110) - I am thinking City might have a big game against a pretty poor Wolves team, so I anticipate Foden to be a big part of their offense.
