Today, we’ll reveal the opening odds and three bets below for the English FA Cup matches on Saturday, March 1st. Let’s get into it!
Both of these teams are currently in the Championship League, the 2nd tier of English Football, so this should be a solids game. Burnley, however, are the much stronger team and sit 26 points ahead of Preston in the Championship League.
Burnley has allowed just 9 goals in 34 league games this season and Preston’s largest issue has been their offense. However, road matches are always tough.
Palace should have a strong advantage in this game. These teams sit in the same spot in their respective leagues, with Palace currently 12th in the Premier League and Millwall 12th in the Championship League.
Palace will have the home field advantage and the more talented team, so it will be an uphill battle for Millwall to say alive in this FA Cup Tournament. Millwall has been solid on the road in Championship League play, but this is a step up from their usual competition.
Here we have a battle between two Premier League teams and it should be a fun one. Bournemouth have been the much better team in the Premier League this season, but Wolves shocked Bournemouth 1-0 on the road just last weekend.
Wolves have been streaky so far this season, but Bournemouth has been solid all season. This should be a fun game between two familiar teams who would love to advance further in this tournament.
There truly isn’t a ton to say about this game. Plymouth currently sit 22nd in the Championship League and has struggled basically all season. Now, they will take on the powerhouse that is Man City on the road.
However, they shocked Liverpool 1-0 in the last round of the FA Cup and beat Brentford. It will truly be amazing if they can pull off another top-tier upset on the road against Man City, but if any team can do it, it seems to be Plymouth. This will be the first meeting between these two teams since 1989, so it should be fun for the fans.
Burnley (+110) at Preston - Burnley has been great so far this year and has allowed only 9 goals through 34 Championship League games. If they can net one early against Preston, I think we have a very good chance at a 1-0 victory.
Bournemouth (-130) vs Wolves - Bournemouth lost at home to Wolves just last weekend, but I really don’t see that happening again. Bournemouth have been solid all season and sit 21 points ahead of Wolves in the standings. This is good odds for the home side.
Plymouth Argyle at Manchester City - Both Teams to Score (+145) - This one will certainly be fun in a game that Man City will likely dominate. Plymouth took out 2 Premier League teams in their run to the 5th round of FA Cup play, including Liverpool just a few weeks ago. I think Plymouth will give us one last gasp in what has been a wild run.
