El Clasico comes at a weird time, as both Barcelona and Real Madrid sides may soon be in transition
What a weird season it has already been in Spain.
Zinidine Zidan has been given two games to save his job, according to reports. Yes, the same Zidan that just won La Liga last season and also has about 800 other trophies on his CV. Madrid did just lose at home to Shakhtar Donetsk as a -625 favorite, but this squad is a weird one, and Sergio Ramos missed the game.
If he plays Saturday (he is playing; there is no way he is missing this game), expect Madrid to be in better shape.
Of course, Barcelona is still learning under Ronald Koeman, and there is the spectre of Lionel Messi’s departure hanging over the club.
So get your popcorn ready, and tune in to see what is always hyped as a classic, but one that rarely lives up to said hype anymore.
