Soccer Monday - Miller picks Women’s World Cup, UEFA U21 European Championship, China, Spain, Germany, Denmark, France, Norway, Austria

Sean Miller

Monday starts the separation from the group stage teams to the knockout stage ones at the 2019 Women's World Cup.

Group A and B teams will play their third and final matches in group stage play, but while the top two teams in each will know that they have advanced, for the teams that finish in third, it will be a waiting game until Thursday to see if they make the round of 16.

Because results and tie-breakers are in play, each group will play its matches simultaneously. Monday, that means Group B at 12 p.m. EDT, Group A at 3 p.m. EDT.

France and Germany will both win their group with at least a point, but are expected to take care of business easily today, which is reflected in their odds. But the other Group B contest, China vs. Spain, is to see which team finishes as runner-up. A draw would probably see both teams go through, with Spain ahead on goal difference.

At the UEFA U21 Championships, Group B takes the stage, with a tough Germany team taking the pitch for the first time.
