Had your hand up if you had these four semifinalists in the UEFA Champions League.
Now put it down, because you are fibbing.
Tuesday, in a the first leg semifinal that absolutely no one picked, Tottenham will host Ajax in a battle of two talented footballing sides.
Both teams have a great back story this season. Tottenham is the first Premier League team to not spend a dime in two straight transfer windows. The Spurs trail Manchester City by 22 points in the Premier League table, but just knocked out the Cityzens in the quarterfinals.
Ajax is a team that made the Europa League final in 2017 with a very young side, then continued to get better. This team will most likely get ripped up in the next few seasons, with Europe’s big-money teams ready to pounce for all the talent in the squad.
But that is for the future; Ajax is ready to etch its name on the trophy for the fifth time, and first since 1995.
Tuesday’s match is a tough one to call. Expect there to be goals from both teams. Ajax has been very good on the road in the knockout stages, with a 4-1 win over Real Madrid and a 2-1 win over Juventus.
In Serbian Super League action, second place Radnicki Nis will take on Proleter Novi Sad.
Radnicki Nis already has two wins over its opponent in the last nine months. and has a much better goal difference (+40 to 0). Take the visitors.
The Copa Sudamericana is back in action Tuesday. Colo Colo has a 1-0 lead on aggregate over Universidad Catolica Quito, and will get the second leg Tuesday night at home.
