Matty B: George Pickens (+130) (Bet365)

DAL at WSH - 1:00 PM EST

I’m taking the reliable George Pickens at +125 as a Christmas Day gift because this is one of the cleanest WR spots on the board. The Commanders’ defense has completely fallen apart, ranking near dead last in total yards, points allowed, and pass defense, and they’ve been getting torched by explosive receivers all season. This is perfect for Pickens.

They’re giving up nearly 27 PPG and 370+ YPG lately, and the secondary has been a weekly target for opposing QBs. That’s a bad recipe when you’re facing an offense like Dallas on a short week, in a game that should lean pass-heavy despite both teams being out of playoff contention.

Pickens has been an absolute monster since coming to Dallas. He’s top 3 in the league in receiving yards, already has 9 TDs, and averages 15+ yards per catch. Dak trusts him in big moments and in the red zone, especially when defenses tilt coverage toward CeeDee Lamb.

Against a Commanders unit that ranks last in yards per pass and struggles badly with big plays, Pickens’ downfield ability is a nightmare matchup for this Christmas afternoon game.

Priced at +125, in a holiday game and one of the worst defenses in football on the other side, this feels like a gift unwrapping. Merry Christmas and enjoy the gift from the sportsbooks.

Nobz: Jake Ferguson (+170) (Fanatics)

DAL at WSH - 1:00 PM EST

How about a little Christmas Day action after we watch all the kids open up presents? FERG already caught 2 TDs against this same Commanders squad back on October 19th, so that's something we have in our favor.

We're also getting a pretty sweet price on this at Fanatics, as the rest of the market has this around +150 or so. Dak Prescott loves to spread the ball around, and he should get plenty of opportunities to target Ferguson against Washington.

The Commanders rank just 29th in safety coverage, 28th in cornerback coverage, and 27th in linebacker coverage. Throw in the fact that Ferg has the 8th highest red zone target rate among tight ends, and you can see why I like this play. Let's throw a unit on Big Jake to score us a Christmas touchdown. Good luck!

Chris: Jahmyr Gibbs 1st TD (+350) (Caesars)

DET at MIN - 4:30 PM EST

I wanted to roll with my boy Gibby for my pick on Christmas, but I sure wasn't crazy about laying the -180 price that's out there for his Anytime TD. Because of that, let's go a different direction and play him to score the first touchdown of Lions vs Vikings.

Gibbs has already scored the first TD in four different games this season. His ability to score both on the ground and as a receiver makes this +350 price way too tempting.

Minnesota has an okay defense, but they still give up 127.6 yards per game on the ground (24th). Look for Gibbs to add to his already impressive total of 17 touchdowns in this game. I'm just hoping Dan Campbell gives him the ball lots of times on Detroit's first drive.

Hutch: David Montgomery (+140) (DraftKings)

DET at MIN - 4:30 PM EST

Since I can't pick my usual "Bears Meatball" pick here, I'll do the next best thing: An ex-Bear. The 1-2 Gibbs, Montgomery tandem is fun as hell to watch, and Minnesota's defense has been, how can I best put this, "meh."

Montgomery has found the end zone at least once in 3 out of his last 4 games, and since I think Detroit's going to win this game pretty handily, I'm expecting a heavy dose of the run game during the majority of this contest.

I'm going to save being overanalytical, keep this short and sweet. Dan Campbell will get his Santa-inspired red cheeks fired up on Detroit's sideline and see that Montgomery delivers us a win here.
