Week 12 of the 2025 NFL season is almost wrapped up already, and it has been much better than Week 11. Several games came down to the wire, and for fantasy football players, it couldn’t have been a better week for several of the league’s top players.
While there’s been a lot of excitement thus far, the week isn’t over, as we have one final battle between the Carolina Panthers and San Francisco 49ers. The Panthers are a lot better than anyone gave them credit for heading into the year, but the 49ers are starting to fire on all cylinders, as evidenced by them being 7.5-point favorites. We’re looking forward to seeing how this divisional battle will play out, and if the 49ers will be as dominant as oddsmakers are predicting. With all of that in mind, let’s get into our top player prop picks from this one, all of which can be found on Underdog!
If you looked at the NFL’s leaders in receiving yards heading into Week 12, you might have been shocked to see that Christian McCaffrey was No. 9 on the list. He’s dropped down to No. 15, considering that he hasn’t played yet this week, but his placement on the list is a testament to how valued he is in this offense. Whether it’s Mac Jones or Brock Purdy slinging the pill in San Francisco, McCaffrey is involved through the air and on the ground, and we can’t fade his receiving yardage in tonight’s matchup with the Panthers. He’s too good for them not to utilize, especially with this being a primetime game.
While the Panthers went back-and-forth between Rico Dowdle and Chubba Hubbard earlier in the year when both were healthy, it’s evident that Dowdle is their guy. He’s dominated the backfield in recent weeks, giving them some extra juice that has allowed Bryce Young to become more confident in himself as a passer. Dowdle has had 18+ rushing attempts in three straight weeks, including 25 rushes against the Green Bay Packers, so this play is nothing more than us riding the hot hand, just like the Panthers are doing. They might find themselves in a negative game script, but with Dowdle being the dynamic playmaker that he is, it’s hard for us to imagine the Panthers going away from him.
Don’t be fooled by Bryce Young’s 448-yard, three-touchdown pass performance last week. We can’t take that away from him, of course, but it might be something of a fool’s gold. Young has only thrown for two or more touchdowns four times this year, making last week’s game more of an anomaly than anything else. We think he’s going to come back to earth, especially against a staunch 49ers defense, throwing for less than two touchdown passes. This pairs well with our Dowdle pick as well!
