Coming off a bye week and a big win against Cleveland, look for the Steelers to continue their win streak as they face the struggling Cincinnati Bengals in an AFC North showdown between two veteran Quarterbacks.
On one side, Flacco will look to get Higgins and Chase involved early, while Arthur Smith and the Steelers will feed Jaylen Warren plenty of touches against a Bengals defense that sits below the league average in yards per carry.
Over their last four matchups, Pittsburgh is 3-1 against the Bengals, winning two games by 6 or more points. Tomlin, on a short week, is dangerous, especially given the Steelers' quick 4-1 start to the season, even with their defense starting the year off slow for Pittsburgh standards.
Cincy, on the other hand, has lost four straight and, even with Flacco in at Quarterback over Browning, should struggle to move the ball consistently.
The Bengals are averaging just 3.1 YPC on the ground this year while allowing 4.4 YPC and 30.5 total PPG through 6 games, which ranks in the bottom three of the league. Take Pittsburgh to win this away matchup and move to 5-1 on the year.
Smith has had a slow start to the year, catching 17 passes for just 89 yards and a score. With that being said, the Steelers will get plenty of red zone opportunities against a below-average Bengals defense on Thursday night.
Smith ranks 3rd among all TEs in target share, and coming off the bye wee,k should get more looks in this Arthur Smith offense that will run many two-tight-end sets.
Smith has scored his last four touchdowns away from home. Look for him to make it number five against their division rival.
With Cincy allowing 4.4 YPC and in their last two games, 93 yards to Jacobs, 54 yards to Gibbs, and 65 yards to Montgomery, I am expecting a Jaylen Warren showcase on Thursday night as he looks to secure his second straight 50+ yard rushing game of the year.
Only going for 3.41 YPC this season as the starter, expect a few breakaway runs to bump this number up, especially with the play-action and short passing game working well for Rodgers and the Steelers thus far to open the year.
