Have a hangover from too much Thanksgiving turkey? Awaken from your food coma for NFL Week 13 as we take a peek at this Sunday's Rams vs. Saints battle. Our betting preview includes a best bet for December 1.
There have only been some minor movements on this game so far. The line was Rams -3 on the look-ahead and that's where we still sit at most sports betting apps. There was some brief movement down to -2.5 but sharp money immediately gobbled that number up.
The main action on this game so far has been on the total. It opened at 46.5 but a slew of Over money has pushed it all the way to 48.5 at most online shops. One prominent sportsbook is even dealing 49 at the time of this writing.
The Rams are in desperate need of a victory, as they've dropped two of their last three ball games. The loss to the Eagles on Sunday Night Football wasn't that big of a surprise, but the loss to the Dolphins a couple of weeks ago was a bit of a head-scratcher.
LA comes into this game with a 5-6 record, but they're still very much in the hunt for the NFC West title. It's amazing how well Sean McVay has navigated around a lot of bad injuries to some key players. Matthew Stafford continues to sling the rock like crazy, even in his ripe old age of 36.
I've been more than a bit disappointed in the Rams defense this season. They rank next to last in the league in yards per pass allowed and they haven't exactly been world-beaters at stopping the run either. Jaylen McCollough has been a bright spot in the secondary, as he's snared 4 interceptions so far in 2024.
New Orleans made the move to fire Dennis Allen and this team has played much better ever since. They beat Cleveland and Atlanta before heading into their bye week in Week 12. As crazy as it sounds, the Saints could still get back into the mix for the NFC South crown.
Derek Carr gets a lot of criticism, but he's actually played pretty well this season. The former Raiders star has thrown for 1,742 yards, 13 TDs, and only 4 interceptions. Alvin Kamara leads the team in both rushing and receiving, so the Rams will need to focus on stopping him.
The Saints defense has been pretty bad all season long, although they have looked rejuvenated since the coaching change. New Orleans ranks next to last in yards per rush allowed, so Kyren Williams could have a big day.
I don't mind paying a little juice to get off the key number of three, but I doubt we'll need it. Even with the Saints looking better recently, I'm still not convinced that they're a solid football team. The Rams may be only 5-6 but I still have them about a touchdown better than the Saints on a neutral.
This is a fantastic bounce-back spot for Los Angeles and I'm expecting a solid game plan from Sean McVay on offense. Let's lay the small number with the road team in this one!
Prediction: Rams 28 - Saints 20
