There's an interesting twist on the bill headed to the governor's desk to sign.
Yes, you'll be able to bet online in Rhode Island, through Rhode Island's two casinos, if the bill passes, but . . .
You're going to have to register for the mobile betting in person at one of the casinos.
Good thing Rhode Island is a relatively small state.
Not sure what this provision does except make it impossible for tourists to place mobile bets if they're just passing through -- "I know you want to see the Vanderbilt mansions in Newport, honey, but I really need to stop at a casino to sign up for their app" -- and the bill could change before enacted, but it seems weird -- like personally having to shake Jeff Bezos' hand before you can order on Amazon.
You can read more about the legislation here.
Hmmm.... The governors - John Hickenlooper and Jay Inslee - don't even make the list and Michelle Obama isn't even running.
Eh. Sean Miller went 4-3 with his soccer picks. Bob Vetrone split his Philly Props and Neal Abrams split his tennis picks from Indian Wells. Everyone else was one below even.
We'll try to do better today.
Good luck at the tables, windows, kiosks and apps.
