Army vs Navy: 3 Player Props and Best Bet for Saturday, December 13

The entire college football world will be focused on one of the game's best traditions. Get our 4 top plays for Army vs Navy in this betting guide.

Earnest Horn

An American tradition will wrap up the college football season on Saturday when the Army Black Knights (6-5, 4-4 American) take on the Navy Midshipmen (9-2, 7-1 American) in a non-conference tilt.

Army assured itself a bowl game by defeating UTSA on November 29. The Black Knights finished the season strong, winning five of their last seven contests against conference foes.

Navy enters the game with a better record, having started the season 7-0 before dropping back-to-back games against North Texas and Notre Dame. The Midshipmen finished the season with a victory over then-ranked South Florida and Memphis, narrowly missing out on the conference championship contest.

This year’s contest will be played in Baltimore for the first time since 2016. Will Army or Navy win this anticipated contest? We’ll cover that and highlight our favorite three player props for Saturday’s game.

Navy Midshipmen QB Blake Horvath OVER 109.5 Passing Yards

Senior quarterback Blake Horvath is finishing up a two-year starting run with Saturday’s contest. He’s completed 61.8 percent of his passes this season, throwing for 1,390 yards, nine touchdowns, and five interceptions in 11 games.

Despite Navy’s run-first offense, Horvath has had several strong passing performances. He’s hit the century-mark in five of his last seven games. Bettors should expect him to extend that streak against Army, throwing for at least 110 yards on Saturday.

Army Black Knights QB Cale Hellums OVER 106.5 Rushing Yards

Cale Hellums isn’t known for his passing ability as Army’s quarterback. Through the air, Hellums has completed just 35 of his 69 pass attempts for 504 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Instead, the signal-caller has 1,078 rushing yards on 264 attempts, posting 15 rushing touchdowns for the Black Knights. He’s surpassed the 100-yard mark on five occasions, and he’s rushed for 81 or more yards during the past seven games. That’s why he’s a strong bet to cover his rushing player prop on Saturday.

Navy Midshipmen RB Alex Tecza To Score A Touchdown (-140)

Senior running back Alex Tecza will cap off his stellar regular season on Saturday. Through 11 games, he’s earned 772 rushing yards on 133 carries, scoring nine times for the Midshipmen on the ground.

He’s also a receiving threat out of the backfield. Tecza has 12 receptions for 123 yards, notching one touchdown through the air. He’s scored in eight of his team’s 11 games thus far, making him a strong bet to cap his senior regular season with another touchdown on Saturday.

Best Bet: Army (+6.5)

Last year, Navy handily won this matchup, defeating the Black Knights 31-13. But the recent series history suggests that Army should not be overlooked. The squad has defeated the Midshipmen in six of the previous nine outings.

Army has only one loss by more than seven points this season, dropping a 28-6 decision to East Carolina. Expect the Black Knights to keep this game close throughout – as they have in eight of the previous 10 games – and cover this spread in a losing effort.
