Mike Noblin

Welcome to Week 3 of college football, sports betting family. There's nothing like a Saturday packed with lots of exciting games like we have on this weekend's card. I've found some betting value on Saturday evening's Florida vs. LSU game, which kicks off at 7:30 PM Eastern Time on ABC.

I've broken down this matchup from every angle and came up with an early best bet for your wagering pleasures. Good luck and enjoy the action! This should be a fun one to watch!

Betting Odds for Florida vs. LSU

Online sportsbooks opened this line at LSU -6.5 last spring. There has been a rather large appetite for the Tigers, as most sportsbooks now list this line at LSU -9.5 as of Tuesday morning. That's a large move down after only two weeks of play.

As for the game total, there's been some large money coming in on the Under. The line opened at 54.5, and almost every sportsbook in the US is now offering 49. The only exception right now is FanDuel, which is currently offering 48.5.

Will Florida Bounce Back from an Ugly Loss?

After a thrilling end to last season, the seat is now once again kind of warm for Florida head coach Billy Napier. The Gators suffered an embarrassing loss at the hands of the South Florida Bulls last Saturday afternoon.

After nursing a 9-6 lead at halftime, Florida played uninspired and undisciplined on their way to an 18-16 loss. DJ Lagway has put up a decent stat line so far (342 passing yards / 4 TDs), but he didn't make enough throws to keep the Gators' offense on the field against USF.

The young sophomore will have to find his footing quickly if Florida wants to have any chance of upsetting LSU for the second year in a row. The Gators offensive line will also need to continue to create space for RB Jadan Baugh, who is averaging an impressive 7.3 yards per carry.

Can LSU Finally Live Up to the Hype?

Brian Kelly and his LSU Tigers finally got the early-season monkey off their backs by beating a pretty good Clemson team on Labor Day weekend. Kelly's troops were down a touchdown at the half but rallied for a 17-10 victory over Dabo Swinney's bunch.

Heisman candidate Garrett Nussmeier, who passed on the NFL to come back for his senior year, has thrown for 469 yards and 2 TDs so far in 2025. However, he has been sacked four times, so that's something the offense will need to correct against a pretty ferocious Florida D-line.

RB Caden Durham has been kind of a disappointment so far for the Tigers. He's found the end zone twice but is only averaging 3.4 yards per carry. A lot of that is because Clemson did a good job of limiting him on the ground.

Best Bet: Florida +10 (-120) (Fanatics)

Note: I'm buying to +10 at -120 at Fanatics, but still like this at anything over a full TD. I may need my head examined for saying this, but this is a remarkable opportunity to buy Florida at a low price. A few days ago, this line was in the +6 to +6.5 range.

I get that the loss to USF was ugly, but that Bulls team proved in Week 1 that they were giant killers by smoking Boise State. I'm not ready to downgrade the Gators all that much for what was obviously a flat spot. We saw how Billy Napier's team responded when his job was on the line last season.

I expect a spirited effort out of Florida in this one. Sure, LSU is playing with revenge on their minds, and they got a big win against Clemson in Week 1. That being said, this is way too many points for a rivalry game. Let's play the Gators plus the points and sprinkle a little something on the moneyline.

Prediction: Florida 24 - LSU 23
