Welcome to Super Tuesday, fellow sports investors! Last Wednesday was a tough night for us on the college hardwood, as our player props went 0-3 to run our record to 36-29 on the young season. That brings our overall profit down to +5.09 units.
It was quite painful to suffer the dreaded reverse sweep just before going on vacation. However, it was nice to see some sunny weather and visit some family for the last few days. As much as I love sports betting, it's always refreshing to take a break from crunching numbers.
I'm fired up and ready to get back on the grind. Let's get into the Tuesday card, which features two plays for the Big East clash between Villanova and UConn. Good luck tonight, folks!
Villanova at UConn: 6:30 PM EST (FS1)
Poplar was one of my favorite players to watch last year at Miami and he's been one of our top Over guys this season with his new team. The 6'5" guard has been in excellent form ever since the calendar switched over to February. I'm expecting a big game tonight from Poplar on the road, especially since Eric Dixon has been struggling.
The matchup against UConn doesn't look too favorable at first glance, but this Huskies defense just isn't as fierce as in years past. UConn ranks just 100th in defensive efficiency and a massive meltdown against Seton Hall over the weekend just showed how far they've fallen.
I also like that Poplar is a pretty good three-point shooter. He typically makes two shots from downtown per game, and he could make double that amount against this Huskies defense. UConn ranks just 283rd at defending the three-ball this season. Give me that Over!
Poplar is 15-11 to the Over vs. this line in '24-25.
Poplar has gone over this line in 4 of his last 5 games.
Poplar has gone Over this line in 10 of his 15 Big East games this year.
Villanova at UConn: 6:30 PM EST (FS1)
How in the world is Karaban's point total this low? I get that he's been shooting a little less often this year, but his median point total is 17! We just can't ignore that type of value around these parts.
Villanova's slow pace of play is a concern, but we have to remember that this Wildcats team ranks just 178th in defensive efficiency. Nova also ranks a pitiful 236th at defending three-pointers, so Karaban could light it up from behind the arc tonight.
Karaban should be highly motivated to get a win tonight after a bad loss to Providence over the weekend. Karaban even called out himself and his teammates after the loss, saying that they "didn't treat each game as life or death." Look for a more inspired effort tonight from the defending champs at home! Give me another Over!
Karaban is 14-9 to the Over vs. this line in '24-25.
He's scored 13 points or more in 8 of his last 14 outings.
Karban has gone Over this total in 6 of his 10 home games.
