Butler is by far the most prominent trade candidate out there. After publicly announcing he’d rather be traded than play in Miami, things have only gone downhill. He was subsequently suspended for seven games by the Heat for releasing that statement, and now the drama continues.
The Heat and Grizzlies may have been nearing a deal for Jimmy to go there, but those rumors have quieted. It seems like Jimmy Butler and his camp have narrowed the teams they’d like to go to, which include the Denver Nuggets, the LA Lakers, the Phoenix Suns, and the Golden State Warriors. With those destinations having limited assets to send to Miami, getting him there might be a challenge. The Grizzlies may still be in the conversation if they can convince Butler and his camp they’re a title contender.
With the Heat actively conversing with multiple teams, this trade will probably happen sooner rather than later.

Kevin Durant is a new name to show up on Draftkings. There haven’t been many public rumors about his availability, but if there is one thing to trust, the sportsbooks know more than us. Considering the state of Phoenix, there may be some movement to blow up this underachieving team. With Kevin Durant in his 17 season and 36 years old, it might be a good time to send him off while he still has value.
Some teams interested in him could be the Houston Rockets, as they’ve ascended this year into a genuine threat in the West. Alternatively, the rich could get richer with the OKC Thunder bringing him back for one last run. Either way, Durant could still bring solid value to a Phoenix team that is basically out of assets.

Zion is “available,” but it seems unlikely anyone will bail the Pelicans out of their situation by offering a fair deal. Zion has been consistently injured since he entered the league as the number-one pick. When he does play, though, he’s had moments where the talent and potential are blinding. However, it doesn’t seem like we’ll ever see the full extent of Zion's abilities in New Orleans.
He is available, but on his current contract his woefully expensive. The Pelicans can release Zion from this contract and owe him nothing, but that doesn’t feel likely either. So, now were are in a weird limbo state, where no one feels ready to offer the Pelicans a compelling deal, nor do the Pelicans seem willing to cut ties altogether. However, things can change quickly in the NBA, and if big money starts to move around, don’t be surprised to see Zion's name in some headlines.
Some potential destinations could be Miami, Portland, Brooklyn, or Chicago. These places are looking to rebuild and have time to see if they can revitalize Zions' troubled career.

Even though they don’t have any betting odds, these are a few of the guys we may see on the trade block this season.
LaVine has long been on the trade block for Chicago. His massive contract has held back most suitors, but there still might be a path forward for him. He’s been playing some impressive basketball this season; with several teams needing a scoring guard, it could be the time teams pull the trigger.
Some names at the top of the list could be the Heat, Pelicans, Pistons, or Nuggets. All of those teams could use or at least have the means to get Zach LaVine. If the odds come back, I would not be surprised to see the Pistons near the top of the list. Considering how their season has gone, they could use a scoring guard at SG now that Jaden Ivey is most likely out for the year. The Pelicans could be another interesting spot considering Brandon Ingram could be another big contract moved.
Another name that has been floating around trade rumors for the better part of a year has been Jerami Grant on Portland. The 30-year-old forward has been a solid contributor for a struggling team. Grant could be a nice addition to several teams as a solid two-way player. Unfortunately, for Portland, the contract they gave Grant has been a deal breaker for several teams. With Grant making nearly 30 million dollars, not many teams can afford to add a role player to their roster for that price. This has depressed the trade market for Grant, but things seem to be heating up again.
In the off-season, Portland has been holding out for two first-round picks for Grant, but as the trade deadline inches closer, one could probably get the job done. Some experts believe they may end up moving Grant for multiple seconds, but either way, several teams seemed to have reignited interest. Two of which are the Cleveland Cavaliers and Sacramento Kings.
The Kings make sense as their roster has been floundering this year; moving a players like Kevin Huerter and Demar DeRozan for Grant and Robert Williams III could be an impactful move. For Cleveland, the conversation is a little different, as they’ve been one of the best teams in the league this year. Grant could give them the three and D wing they’ve been looking for, but it’s unclear what a trade might be between them.
Cam Johnson has been in trade talks all season as the Brooklyn Nets look to tank the rest of the season to improve their draft odds. Johnson has been an effective wing with size for Brooklyn ever since being traded from Phoenix in the Durant deal. The 6’8 forward has been a knockdown shooter most of his career and could be a valuable addition to multiple teams.
OKC has emerged as the favorite to land him. Despite being one of the best teams in the West, they lack scoring outside of SGA and Jaden Williams. Adding an elite three-point shooter with size would pair well with the rest of the roster. With OKC’s hoard of picks and young players, it’s unlike anyone could outbid them for Johnson, even though several other teams have been sniffing around on him.
Memphis and Indians are two other teams Johnson has been linked to. The asking price for the 28-year-old is unclear, but Johnson will likely fetch at least a first-round pick.
